NEC Electronics Europe Introduces New Low Height and Long Creepage Transistor Optocouplers in L-SOP Package
Guaranteed Operation up to 115degC Ambient Temperature
DÜSSELDORF (Germany) — 01 Mar 2010NEC Electronics Europe introduces a new transistor output optocoupler coming in a low height 4-pin L-SOP (Long Mini Flat Small Outline package) that features a maximum package height as low as 2.3mm (mounted on the board). On the other side, a long distance between input and output pins is maintained to meet highest isolation requirements. Consequently clearance and outer creepage distances of minimum 8mm and a high isolation voltage of 5000 Vrms (max) can be specified with this package. In addition to this, the PS2381-series optocouplers feature guaranteed operation from -40degC up to 115degC ambient temperatures, representing one of the widest temperature ranges for optocouplers available for the industrial market today."
Output collector to emitter voltages up to 80V can be applied and maximum output collector current of 50mA can be obtained. The new PS2381-series optocouplers can operate at both 1mA and 5mA LED input currents and the values for the current transfer ratio (CTR) are specified for both input current levels.
The new L-SOP optocouplers are lead--free, fully RoHS compliant and halogen-free. They feature the most common international safety certificates such as UL, CSA and VDE. All of these outstanding features make them ideal for industrial applications where components are packed densely, such as switched mode power supplies, motor control, lighting and heating controls.
